Some of the best memories don’t happen in epic places—they happen barefoot in the front yard, soaked in laughter (and water), with chalk on your fingers and the smell of sunscreen in the air. This session was full-on summer mood, and I’m still smiling thinking about it. No fancy outfits. Just a hot Nebraska afternoon, a hose with a mind of its own, and the kind of joy that spills over like melting popsicles.

We started with chalk masterpieces on the driveway—names, suns, rainbows, hopscotch. The kids showed me their best jump moves, and mom and dad snuck in a little chalk heart of their own. Then came the car wash... or was it a water fight in disguise?

Buckets sloshed. A sponge got flung. Dad “accidentally” sprayed everyone. And just when we thought the kids couldn’t laugh harder, someone pulled out the bubble machine. Shoes were kicked off, hair got drenched, and the driveway turned into a slip-and-slide of giggles.

This is what I love most: capturing families in their element. No stress. No pressure. Just being. Because one day, these are the days you’ll want to remember—the way they squinted at the spray of the hose, how small their hands looked wrapped around the chalk, the sound of pure, belly-deep laughter echoing off the garage.
